Logo Design - How It Works?

At MRS Design, we do not offer either one or even a selection of set logo, stationery or website design packages. The reason behind this decision is that each and every design project is different. Therefore, rather that trying to shoehorn each client into a set package, we offer all our clients bespoke packages which are tailored to their own individual requirements.

As an example, in terms of logo design, which is often the first stage in a design project, each of our logo design projects follow the following scheme...

1) Information Gathering

We request all our logo design clients to provide some general information including...

  • Text for the Logo design (including tagline if applicable)
  • A brief description of the client's company.
  • The client's general preferences as to the logo style, colour scheme and font you would like to use within the design. To aid clients in this, we would suggest they look at our logo design portfolio which features 100s of logo we have designed for previous clients.
  • Also, in terms of price, we also ask how many unique initial designs would the client like. Normally, if the client is fairly open to ideas we would recommend 4 to 6, but some clients have a very good idea of the logo they would like, and in such circumstances 1 or 2 initial designs can be more than sufficient.

2) Quote

Once we have received the above info, we will provide a written quote by email. All our quotes are fixed, and include a set number of initial designs, and unlimited revisions. The only instance where the quoted price would vary, is if either the client requested additional options or services, or if after seeing the set number of initial designs, though that additional initial designs would be beneficial.

3) Deposit Payment

Before proceeding with the actual design work, we would require a 50% deposit payment of the total project value. For very low cost projects, such as simple logo, stationery or website updates, we reserve the right to request full payment in advance.

For projects involving more than one element, i.e. logo, stationery & web design, each element would be considered separately, and as such the deposit would only be required in respect of the part of the quote in relation to the 1st element, i.e. usually the logo design.

In terms of payment, we can accept payment online using either Paypal or Google Checkout, of if you would prefer to pay by cheque, this is fine, but we would have to wait until the cheque was received and cleared into our account before proceeding with any design work.

4) Initial Logo Designs

Once we have received the above info, our designers will design create the unique initial logo designs.

For example...

5) Revision Cycles

For example, if after seeing the above initial designs, you liked option 3, but would like to see it in some alternative colour schemes, we may provide the following...

You then may say you like option 3b, but would like to see it with different font weights...

You can carry on asking for amendments as above until you are happy with a final design. Then we will proceed to...

6) Final Payment

Once you have selected a final logo design, we will require the payment payment for the logo design phase of your project.

Again, in terms of payment, we can accept payment online using either Paypal or Google Checkout, of if you would prefer to pay by cheque, this is fine, but we would have to wait until the cheque was received and cleared into our account before proceeding with the logo finalisation process.
